Kim Delaney was an American actress. The actress is best known for her character, Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she won the Emmy Award. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was born the sole child from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a high-ranking executive of the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. Although she was a child with a dream of becoming journalist, it wasn't until high school that she began modeling. When she moved away from New York City and gaining an experience working as a commercial model and commercials in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. In 1981, she appeared as an innocent teen in All My Children. Since then Delaney has appeared in numerous TV dramas and films. The professional life she has had is much more lucrative than her personal life. She is gifted and stunning, has had to battle drinking in the past. The marriages she has had been unsuccessful twice. Her custody was taken away from her son in 2005.
